Bonnie Feniger – President
Sisterhood membership is open to any woman who is a member of Temple Beth El. Sisterhood is an important part of the Temple family, with goals of promoting closer fellowship within our congregation, expanding service and support within the community and serving as a support vehicle for the Congregation by mentoring religious, social and educational activities. Without our Sisterhood members, we would be unable to meet these goals. In addition, we also plan fun events.
I invite each and everyone of you to join. Through concerted and active involvement in Sisterhood, our Temple will have the framework necessary to support our growing needs. Please feel free to contact any board member with thoughts for improving your Sisterhood.
For information about Sisterhood, please contact the temple office or Steve Issacson, tbenyct@gmail.com for details
Meetings: ( Currently being held Via Zoom, Contact the Temple office for more details)
Traditions: A Collection of Recipes
Traditions: A Collection of Recipes compiled by our members and their families is on sale now at the Judaica Shop, and the Temple office and is also available by mail order.
The cookbook features a chapter explaining food customs for the Jewish holidays throughout the year including braiding diagrams for making homemade challah, a chapter on holiday recipes, and categories for: Appetizers & Beverages; Soups & Salads; Vegetables, Potatoes & Rice; Dairy & Noodle Dishes; Fish, Meat & Poultry; Baked Goods & Desserts.
Sisterhood’s beautiful creation is a great gift idea for Hanukkah, the new bride or as a housewarming gift. You might also wish to give one to a child who is away at college and does his or her own cooking. Many people have purchased a copy for each of their children so that they will always have a handy collection of Jewish recipes available.
This book can provide you with many new, tried and true treats for any holiday or occasion, even that night when the whole family can actually gather around the dinner table together!…and best of all if you have a question about the recipe you can check it out with the actual cook who supplied it!
